Beware of 'greenwashing' (ie labels that claim to be 'nature' cleaning products but are still filled with harmful chemicals). Always read the ingredients before buying and bring a product into your home. Anything with 'fragrance' listed as an ingredient is an automatic NO.

DIY Wood Cutting Board Cleaner

Regular Cleaning (not raw meat/fish)

  1. Cut an organic lemon in half
  2. Squeeze 1/2 of the lemon juice on your cutting board
  3. Sprinkle cutting board with kosher salt 
  4. Scrub salt on cutting board with the flat side of the unsqueezed lemon

 

Cleaning After Raw Meat / Fish

  1. Bring 2 cups of water to a boil
  2. While the water is coming to a boil, soak your cellulose sponge in white vinegar
  3. Scrub your cutting board clean using the white vinegar sponge 
  4. Let the vinegar sit for 2-3 minutes after scrubbing 
  5. Place cutting board in your sink and very carefully rinse your cutting board by pouring the boiled water onto the cutting board

 

Wood Conditioning & Finishing

Condition your wooden cutting board bi-weekly with organic fractionated coconut oil! Avoid chemical filled wood conditioners sold in stores...

DIY Unclog Drain

  1. Pour 2-3 tablespoons of vinegar down the drain
  2. Next, pour 1 cup of vinegar
  3. Let it sit and fizz for about 10 minutes
  4. While you let it sit, bring 2 cups of water to a boil
  5. Carefully, rinse the drain with the boiling water
